I have not cycled in the south of France before, but my expectations were high – both for the landscape, the weather and the cycling experiences. The meeting with Jesper and Bonnie is without parallel the most positive welcome and hospitality I have experienced as a traveller. It obviously makes a big difference that they have in-depth knowledge of your needs when you travel to experience any of the cycling experiences in the area. Jesper cycles and has cycled on every small road and other paths that are less accessible than that, so with his routes you get around the countryside on roads and paths that you would never have found yourself or had the courage to test. They have been tested, and Jesper plan the routes according to one’s wishes and need for challenges. The beauty of the house and the village can be seen for yourself in the photos on their website. I might add that the pictures do not disappoint. On the contrary, it is better than it looks, and as others have also written, it is great to be able to wake up to home-baked bread before checking the tire pressure and filling the bike bottles with water. I rented a bike from NiceCyclist for a week. The bike is a brand new Van Rysel with 12s SRAM electronic gearing that rides like a dream. I can only highly recommend NiceCyclist, and next time I won’t just go with a bike. I’ll also try their beautifully located Maison Belle Vue north of Cannes 🌞
I have had the great pleasure of staying in Jesper and Bonnie’s beautiful house in Auribeau. The most beautiful thing, however, is their hospitality and the way they run their B&B. They are two people who are very welcoming, service minded, easy to talk to and they cook really delicious food. I can heartily recommend this place. THANK YOU for the lovely stay.
Fantastic medieval town, fantastic town house. View all the way to the Mediterranean. So charming. Newly renovated and elegant interior. Own large bathroom. Delicious, delicious breakfast. Lovely hosts. 5 stars from here 👍🏻👍🏻
I can warmly recommend a stay with Bonnie and Jesper in their beautiful and charming house in Auribeau-sur-Siagne. We had our base there during a cycling holiday in the late summer of 22, and had some fantastic rides with Jesper as a knowledgeable guide. Jesper knows the area like the back of his hand, which is a huge plus in terms of route planning (both gravel and road), and also with a view to finding the best spots for refreshments 🙂
Auribeau-sur-Siagne is a small but really charming town, and the two restaurants that are practically on the doorstep are definitely worth a visit.
I can highly recommend Jesper and Bonnie’s house if you are considering a trip to the South of France! I went on a three-day cycling tour in the area with Jesper as guide. Great trip and great area!
I have stayed at Jesper and Bonnie’s house in Auribeau-sur-Siagne twice. The first I was solo out looking for some great rides while in the area. The second time with my wife and another couple. Both trips were nothing short of memorable. On the first trip Jesper took me on my best bike of the year when we headed down to the coast. On my second trip I tried the solo option, where Jesper sent me a couple rides mapped out and sent to me as a .gpx file to follow. While the riding and hiking are outstanding, come for the house and the town. So far away from hustle and bustle but so close to it with an easy run into Nice for the day. I could spend hours, actually I did spend hours, on the terrace – the morning to kick off the day and evenings for a glass of rose to wind it all down. Great house set up with bedrooms having their own bath, a luxury in France, and so many different areas to hang out and gather in as a group. Already planning a 2023 visit.
Went on one of the most beautiful and toughest gravel bike-tours that I have tried, it was in Esterél, with Jesper as guide, it was literally breath-taking in every way. It must be some kind of Gravel-heaven. I can highly recommend this area.
Want to say thank you for some great days in good company with good challenges. The bikes were super nice with perfect gearing. It has been a pleasure to be able to cycle with you again in the south of France. Hope to be back soon.
